In November, we ran four very well-attended (over 400 delegates in all) conferences for the six local authorities making up the ERW Consortium. The aim was to help schools understand the depth of information on the quality of everyday professional practice that is required both:
- To deliver the “entitlement to professional development” promised by the Welsh Government
- To make fair and accurate decision on pay progression – especially now that all teachers who have successfully completed their induction can now apply once a year to go onto the upper pay scale.
We were able to share some practical approaches and materials that we hope will help them implement both sets of requirements with the full support of teachers.
